2010-2011 REGISTRATION
AND LEVEL INFORMATION
JUNIOR TEAM
The Junior Team is intended for divers at a beginner to
intermediate level of expertise. Whether you are looking
to refine and improve your skills for the NVSL season,
or you are eventually wanting to become a serious
competitor in USA Diving, this is the right program for
you!

There will be a system of skill progressions that divers
will be asked to complete as they improve their
mechanics and technique within the Junior Team.
Divers and parents will be provided these skill
progressions that will be very specific for every aspect
of practice from the trampoline, to mat work, to the 1
meter and 3 meter boards. No matter what interest level
your child has in diving, it is absolutely essential that
they all go through the same skill progressions in order
to be a successful diver at any level of competition.

The divers skill level will be assessed during practices
and it is important to know that each diver will progress
at a pace that meets their specific abilities and desires
at any particular time. By successfully progressing
through all the skills asked of a diver of the Junior
Team, divers will hopefully be ready to join the
Advanced Team and further their advancement within
Dominion Dive Club or they can opt to continue to
master their technique and skills on the Junior Team. It
is strongly suggested that divers stay with this program
on a year round basis in order to maximzse their
progress. Year round participation however is not a
requirement. There will be several optional meets
throughout the year that will be available for members
of the Junior Team.

HIGH SCHOOL LESSONS
High School lessons will be held over a period of 17
weeks of classes ending after the majority of high
school dual meets. The classes will be intended to
prepare divers for high school tryouts as well as
mastering the skills that the divers may not have the
time or resources to do during their high school
practices. The majority of high school practices will be
on the 1 meter board. Divers however, will be expected
to utilize additional equipment intended to benefit their
progression on the one meter board.

ADVANCED TEAM
The Advanced Team is intended for divers who have
completed the level progressions as members of the Junior
Team and will be placed on the Advanced Team by
invitation only. Just as there are skill progressions for the
Junior Team, there will be a set of skill progressions for
Advanced Team that must be mastered in order progress
through the program. Divers are expected to practice and
compete on all boards. Members of the Advanced Team will
be required to compete in USA Diving national qualifying
competitions. The Advanced Team is a year round program
and divers are required to sign up for fall, spring and
summer sessions. A minimum of 3-4 days a week will be
required at this level. Divers are required to attend dryland
practices when made available.

SENIOR TEAM
The Senior Team is reserved for divers with a desire to
compete at a national level. Practices will be geared
towards competing at this higher level eventually
allowing divers to continue on to the collegiate level. A
great deal will be expected out of these athletes with
not only emphasis on board time but also a dryland and
conditioning program. Divers will be expected to follow
the required skill progressions and will be removed from
the Senior Team if they are unable to master the
necessary skills. Divers will be expected to attend a
majority of available meets. A minimum of 4-5 days of
practice will be required. Some of these practices will
be held at our dryland center and divers will be required
to attend. The Senior Team will be by invite only and
will be drawn from the Advanced Team.
