|
These lessons are intended for divers new to the sport
of diving or entering their first year or two of diving.
Skills that will be emphasized are jumps and basic dives
that are a necessary building block for more difficult
skills. Divers will go at a slower pace to ensure that
these basic skills are mastered.
Intermediate lessons are intended for divers who have
mastered the basic jumps and dives and are looking to
progress in their abilities. Skills that would be learned and
mastered at this level are dives and flips in every direction.
This level would further the divers base for learning more
complicated dives. Some three meter will be expected with
basic jumps, dives and line up skills. Some local and away
meets will be available to diver in this level.

Advanced lessons are intended for divers who would like to
begin competing in USA Diving and AAU competitions.
Basic one meter skills will be expected to be mastered
when entering this level. More advanced skills will be
learned in order to compete in the divers respective age
group. More time will be spent on three meter learning the
dives necessary to compete on that board. Some meets will
be available to divers at this level with attendance
occasionally expected. Advanced lessons will be taken by
invitation only. A minimum of 2 days will be required at this
level.
____________________________________________________________________
These lessons will be offered once a week for masters
(over 18) divers. These lessons will be available for all
skill levels who will find lessons in the early afternoon
more convenient.
____________________________________________________________________
High School lessons will be done over two sessions.
The first session will be intended to prepare divers for
high school tryouts as well as the high school season.
This first session will last until the beginning of the high
school season. The second session will occur during
the high school season and will be intended to master
the skills that the divers may not have the time or
resources to do during their high school practices.

The JO Team is reserved for divers with a desire to
compete at a national level, whether it be USA Diving or
AAU competition. Practices will be geared towards
competing at this higher level eventually allowing divers
to continue on to the collegiate level. A great deal will
be expected out of these athletes with not only
emphasis on board time but also a dryland and
conditioning program. Divers will be expected to attend
a majority of available meets. A minimum of 3 days of
practice will be required. The JO Team will be by invite
only and will be drawn from the Advanced Lessons.
____________________________________________________________________
The JO Optional Team will be under a similar training
regiment as the JO Team. Where it will differ from the
JO Team is the time and dedication that the divers
choose to put into their own advancement as a diver.
More will be expected from these divers in terms of time
commitment as well as motivation. Divers will be
expected to attend all competitions unless prior
arrangements are made with DDC staff. A more intense
conditioning program will be discussed with each
individual member. A minimum of 4 days will be required
from all divers at this level. This level will be open to all
JO divers after careful discussion with parents, divers
and DDC staff.
